About me

Hi, I'm Dr. Chris Truong (she/they), a neurodivergent-affirming psychologist and founder of Prismatic Minds LLC — a private practice dedicated to empowering neurodivergent individuals through affirming therapy, training, and consultation.

I specialize in supporting autistic and ADHD teens and adults, as well as members of the broader neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities. My approach is grounded in lived understanding, clinical expertise, and a deep respect for each person's unique mind.

I offer virtual therapy across Maryland and 42 states via PSYPACT, making care more accessible wherever you are.

Education & Experience

I hold a Doctorate and Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Before becoming a psychologist, I also earned my Master of Health Science degree in Public Mental Health from Johns Hopkins University and Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Currently, I work as a Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Neurodiversity-Affirming Services at Towson University's counseling center where I provide therapy, supervise trainees, and design neuro-inclusive outreach programs and educational workshops to support neurodivergent people. Previous clinical experience includes providing counseling at Goucher College, and Stevenson University. Additionally, I worked at the Autism Spectrum Center at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and Loyola Clinical Centers, where I provided therapy and psychological assessments.

My Therapeutic Style

In our work together, you'll find a supportive space where your experiences are respected, your strengths are valued, and your identity is affirmed. I take an authentic, person-centered, and strengths-based approach, meeting you where you are and supporting you in where you want to go.

Whether you're navigating overwhelm, healing from past experiences, exploring your identity, or looking to grow in ways that align with your values, I'm here to walk alongside you. Together, we'll work to build a foundation of trust, understanding, and self-awareness — with room for autonomy, honesty, and real connection.

What is Neurodiversity-Affirming Care?

Neurodiversity-Affirming Care is a way of supporting people with different types of brains, like those with autism, ADHD, or other neurological differences. Instead of trying to "fix" people, this approach values their unique strengths, respects how they see the world, and understands that challenges often come from an unsupportive environment—not from the person themselves.

Key parts of this approach include:
